Greetings Potential 2017 Summer Staff,

The staff and I are so excited about summer 2017! I hope you all are praying about God’s will for you this summer. We have been praying for a long time that the Lord would provide us with young people ready to draw close to God and ready to serve Christ’s people this summer through THE WAY program (Eph. 2:10).Summer Staff Photo 2015

This summer at LeTourneau we are ready to take our youth and young adults’ discipleship ministry to the next level. LeTourneau’s summer staff ministry is designed to be a rich discipleship program for students ages 14 and up. The program is called THE WAY and is broken into two distinct age groups, 14-16 and 17 and up. The goal of this program is to establish youth and young adults in their faith, to build up their trust in the Word, and give them boldness to live out the Gospel. Every student will have daily opportunities to be led into a deeper relationship with the Lord. Students will participate in personal and corporate devotions, regular worship, concentrated studies, personal accountability, and constant interaction with mentors (we have designated leaders for guys and girls). Students will also find their fellow summer staffer youth to be a great source of joy and encouragement, as well as potential lifelong Christian friends.

Even more, these students will have a chance to gain some expertise in many camp jobs and earn an invaluable Christian work ethic. Camp jobs include some of the following: maintenance, dining hall hostessing, lifeguarding, water front hand boat operators, paintball field managers, kitchen assistants, housekeeping, and more! New this year, and available to students who qualify, will be the opportunity to be camp counselors during LeTourneau’s 6 weeks of Summer Children’s Day Camps for ages 5-13 and our youth outreach camp at the end of the summer.

Summer Staff Program - The WayWe are thrilled about THE WAY program and believe it has the potential to help students create a legacy of faithful Christian service. To be a part of this program, students must fill out an application. Their application is reviewed and if accepted, students are offered one of the limited number of volunteer or paid positions. Once accepted, students participate in mandatory training sessions prior to the summer commitment. Each participant is also asked to help raise support by sending out approximately 20 support letters (LeTCC will provide a sample and will mail these letters at no cost to students) and pray for the Lord’s provision. The goal for each student is $100 a week. The funds help to pay for the student’s missionary stipend, meals, lodging, training, discipleship materials, and special activities. Those unable to raise the $100 will still be invited to camp! To guarantee every student has the opportunity to participate in THE WAY, LeTourneau has established the Avis & Gerri (Summer Staff) Fund. Our A&G Fund will make up any support still needed. For those not requesting financial compensation, we also accept volunteers!

Thank you for praying about joining THE WAY program. We are excited to meet the team God is building for the summer of 2017!

In Joyful Service,

Jamie Fischer

Year-End Giving Opportunities in 2015

As December 31, 2015 quickly approaches, you may still be considering where to give an end of the year donation. Well, if the Lord leads you, LeTourneau has some wonderful opportunities to invest in.

For several years, we have been opening camp up for one weekend a year to inner city and underprivileged children. This is a free event for all participants. They enjoy all the beauty and fun LeTCC can offer, as well as an opportunity to meet Christ and have their lives changed forever. This year, we desire to have more kids at camp than ever before, so we have started a Youth Outreach Fund. Our goal is to raise $10,000. So far, we have raised nearly $4,000! Just $100 will pay for one teenager to spend a weekend at LeTCC. This is a great cause to be a part of —there’s nothing better than seeing lives saved!

Some of you are avid supporters of camp and we know you would love to see some updates completed on the property. We have several large projects, which need attention, such as the following: multiple roofs ($10,000), the dining hall carpet ($20,000), decorating and painting existing rooms in the Lodge and Bethany House ($2,500), and a new fire alarm system ($10,000).

With a desire to grow this ministry comes the need for more staff housing. We currently do not have adequate housing for some staff and it will be difficult to add new staff without renovating existing structures or building new ones. This financial need could surpass the $100,000. mark.

As you can see, this ministry has some great financial needs. We know the Lord always provides for His work to be completed and we are confident in His provision. If you feel, the Lord would like you to be a part of this work, please send your end of the year gift to our office at 4950 County Road 11, Rushville, NY 14544. If your check is dated to December 31st or earlier, we will be sure to send you an official financial statement for your 2015 records.

Thank you for considering this ministry’s needs as you prepare to make your end of the year gift.

May you and your loved ones be blessed this Christmas season and into the New Year!

Merry Christmas!

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this.Isaiah 9:6-7

In Scripture, it is wonderful to see how the Lord’s plan to redeem His people has been revealed. His plan to redeem a people for His name sake was in His heart before the foundation of the world; before there was time. The specifics of this plan were slowly delivered to mankind over the centuries. In the case of the passage above, God shared with men characteristics of the Messiah’s nature and kingdom long before His birth! I love how His plan is accomplished…”The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this.”  Praise the Lord! His zeal has accomplished these things. Now, through the fulfillment of this prophecy, we know Jesus Christ, the Messiah, and we call Him our Lord and Savior! This Christmas season we praise Jesus, for He has brought salvation to men. As Avis (a dear servant of the Lord at LeTCC for nearly 60 years) often says, “We serve a Great God, don’t we?!” Don’t we?!

Our Lord has come and I am happy to say, LeTourneau has played a part in making Him known for more than 81 years. In 2015, the Lord poured out His blessings on this ministry in so many ways. Personally, since my family and I arrived in February of this year, we have seen the Lord’s provision in dramatic fashion. In six short months, the Lord provided the remaining $140,000 to complete the first phase of the Lighting Our Future campaign, which saw the deed return and a new chapter in ministry begun. This year, we saw literally dozens of volunteers pour onto campus to serve in a variety of ways, from housekeeping, to event coordinating, to roofing, to painting, to washing dishes, to sending mailers, and the list goes on and on. We are so grateful for these wonderful volunteers who gave of their time to bless this ministry. Our summer staff served so well this past summer and into the fall as well. They were full of enthusiasm for the Lord and a fun, unified bunch of teens and young adults. Six of these teens and young adults actually volunteered their summers and asked for no pay in return. What a blessing all of these young people were. The staff and I are so grateful to all of our volunteers and summer staff. The staff serve as unto the Lord with great joy. The support we receive from these volunteers and summer staff help to encourage us and increase the ministry of LeTourneau.

It is a wonderful ministry we all at LeTourneau have been called to. We have the joy of serving and impacting more than 5,000 lives a year and over a hundred churches and Christian organizations. We see dozens saved and dozens more baptized every year. We see hundreds more have their lives changed for the Lord. What an amazing ministry the Lord has formed and the potential for even more ministry is right before us. That is why, in 2016 we hope to begin a new branch of LeTourneau ministry, which will focus on a variety of outreaches that will be designed to reach the lost and help disciple believers in this region. We hope some of these ministries will include, Day Camps, Youth Camps, Winter Youth and Young Adult Retreats, Marriage Conferences, Pastor and Laymen Conferences, Christian Evangelistic Concerts, and more. We are asking the Lord to provide the leadership, volunteers, supporters, financing, and participants to accomplish this exciting new work for His glory. The provision and outcome will be from the Lord. And we pray for His “zeal” to make these plans a reality. As He provides, these ministry opportunities will come alive and we will make them available to churches from all over. We would ask you to pray for this exciting new branch of ministry and to consider being a part of supporting these efforts. We want to max out our Kingdom potential. As the poem by C.T. Stud says,

“Two little lines I heard one day,
Traveling along life’s busy way;
Bringing conviction to my heart,
And from my mind would not depart;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.

Christmas Tree with Lights and GiftsIt is our greatest hope and sincerest intention to bring God much glory in 2016 by striving to share the love of Christ and the joy of salvation with as many as the Lord will draw to this ministry. We would be greatly encouraged by your willingness to pray for this ministry and to consider walking with us as the Lord would lead.

Blessings in the Savior this Christmas Season and into the New Year.

Director’s Update: Planning for the Future

We are excited to have completed Phase One of the Lighting Our Future campaign, which saw hundreds give to meet the $600,000 needed to acquire the deed. As the deed officially returns sometime this year, we are excitedly praying and planning for the future. We are ready to dream big and to max out our potential at LeTCC for the Kingdom of God. From the standpoint of our existing facilities, we have already begun a revitalization plan to replace roofs and beautify the interior of existing structures. Several LeTCC sponsors have begun to give of their time, abilities, and financial means to accomplish these projects.

As we look to expand the ministry at LeTourneau, we see two exciting areas for growth that will greatly impact this ministry. One is for new facilities to be added to our property, which will allow our conference ministry to expand as we provide more rooms and better facilities to our guests. We will gladly plan for this opportunity to grow and build as the Lord provides the direction and financial partnerships needed. The other area for great growth is for the implementation of new and exciting programs to better serve churches and Christian organizations in this region. We would love to see new outreaches added, such as: day camps, youth camps, inner-city Retreats, Winter youth and young adult retreats, Marriage & Family Conferences, pastor and lay leader conferences, and a monthly men’s fellowship.

We are dreaming big and asking for the Lord to provide the partnerships, resources, and financial assistance to achieve these goals. If you are led to walk with us, we would be grateful for your partnership. We know nothing is impossible when God is in the midst of Kingdom work. At our annual fundraiser banquet on Saturday, December 5, we will expand upon the details of this ministry’s vision and give supporters the opportunity to give to areas that will make a lasting difference for our guests, our LeTCC family, and our Lord. The meal will be served in the dining hall at 6 p.m. with a short program to follow. We sincerely hope to see you there!
